Later that night, as the cool desert air settled over the haveli, Kunwar-saab stepped onto the balcony for a quiet stroll in the moonlight. The silence was broken by the muffled sound of sobbing coming from the terrace. He paused in the shadows, inadvertently catching the raw, private conversation between the sisters.
He listened, his heart tightening, as Tara poured out the reality of her life abroad. "Oh, Didi," she choked out through tears, "all I ever asked for was a real connection, but I’ve ended up with a man who is a ghost in our own home. He’s impotent DIDI!—he can’t support me physically, and the real sting is that he isn't even there for me emotionally. I feel so hollow." He heard her take a shaky breath before she continued, her voice thick with envy and longing. "What should I do? All I ever wanted was a man who is caring and strong... someone exactly like Jiju. You have no idea how lucky you are to have a man like him in your life."

The next morning, the haveli was filled with the soft light of dawn and the cheerful chatter of the sisters. "Good morning, Didi!" Tara greeted brightly, her eyes sparkling. Meera smiled, adjusting her dupatta. "Good morning, Choti. Listen, I need your help. I’m heading to the market and should be back in an hour. Once Kunwar-saab wakes up, could you please take a glass of hot milk to his room?" Tara’s smile widened, a playful glint in her eyes. "Of course, Didi! No need to call it help—I’ll take very good care of Jiju while you're away."
After Meera left for the market, Tara carefully prepared the milk, ensuring it was just the right temperature. She walked down the quiet hallway of the haveli and arrived at the door to the master suite. Stepping inside quietly, she whispered, "Jiju, aapka doodh!!..."
She noticed that Kunwar-saab was still resting peacefully. Not wanting to disturb his sleep, she moved softly across the room to place the glass on the bedside table. Looking around the room, she felt a sense of responsibility to ensure everything was in order for her sister’s husband. She decided to wait a moment to see if he would wake naturally, or perhaps she would just leave the warm drink there so it would be ready for him the moment he opened his eyes.

Kunwar saab appeared to be in a deep, peaceful slumber, but Tara’s breath hitched as her gaze wandered over him. With the blanket only pulled up to his hips, his broad, sun-kissed chest was left bare, glistening with a light sheen of morning sweat. She stood frozen, the glass of milk forgotten in her hand, as she admired the rugged, masculine frame of the man before her. The sight of his powerful build and the dark hair dusting his chest stirred a deep, aching hunger within her. In that quiet, charged moment, she couldn't help but compare him to the hollow life she left behind, realizing with a sharp pang that
this was exactly the kind of man she had always craved.
